At each Prayer Breakfast, we feature a family with deep agricultural roots and a strong foundation in the Christian faith. While these families represent all areas of agriculture, they are united by a legacy passed down through generations and an unwavering commitment to their work. Their stories reflect faith lived out in the everyday, through hard seasons and fruitful ones, and reveal how Christ has been present through it all. Our prayer is that their testimonies remind us that in every season, God’s faithfulness runs deep.
Established in 1905, the Ainley Ranch began as a planned citrus operation, raising oranges on the flat ground. After farming ten acres, limited water made citrus production unsustainable, and the ranch transitioned into a cattle operation that spanned both flat and hilly country. For five generations, the Ainley family has lived and prospered on the land, grounded in a deep commitment to the Lord that has guided each generation. The ranch has endured both prosperous seasons and challenging times, including the hardships of the Great Depression in the 1930s, years of drought, and seasons of abundant grass. During the Depression, when cattle prices were extremely low, Grandfather Ainley persevered and weathered the storm. From its inception, the ranch has maintained a strong affinity for cattle and remains a cow-calf operation, with all cattle handled on horseback. Through every season, the Ainley Ranch has been dedicated to the Lord, trusting in His faithfulness and seeking all wisdom from Him.
